Nigerian travel content creator Alma Asinobi has announced her ambitious plan to journey across all seven continents in an attempt to set a world record.
In a statement on her Instagram page, Asinobi revealed that her adventure will commence on March 15, 2025, in Australia and conclude in Nigeria.
She emphasized that she will be making the trip with her Nigerian passport to raise awareness about passport privilege and the challenges faced by African travelers.
“I’m doing this with a Nigerian passport to shed more light on the issue of passport privilege. When I fully recover from having to apply for more than 10 visas for this trip and being rejected for two of them a total of five times. I will go in-depth about why we simply cannot afford to accept and remain silent about the second-class treatment we are subjected to when it comes to travel and visa requirements for citizens with low-mobility passports,” she stated.
Asinobi further explained that her journey aims to inspire others while spotlighting the barriers faced by those with passports ranked among the lowest globally.
“I’m pushing the limits of one of the lowest-ranking passports in the world on this adventure to show what is possible and inspire you to see the world despite the limitations, while also shining a spotlight on a much-overlooked issue that affects over half of the world’s population, with Africans both at home and in the diaspora being among the most impacted,” she added.
The current Guinness World Record for the fastest time to visit all continents stands at three days, one hour, five minutes, and four seconds. It was set by Indian travelers Ali Irani and Sujoy Kumar Mitra.
Asinobi’s attempt has generated excitement among travel enthusiasts, with many eagerly following her journey as she seeks to make history.
