The Lagos State Office of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) has partnered with HERhealthEQ, a New York-based non-profit organization, to enhance maternal and child healthcare services in underserved communities across the state.

During a visit by HERhealthEQ’s CEO and Founder, Ms. Marissa Fayer, the Special Adviser on SDGs, Dr. Oreoluwa Finnih, highlighted the transformative role of technology in improving healthcare outcomes.

As part of the collaboration, HERhealthEQ has donated 10 Butterfly iQ+ handheld ultrasound devices to hospitals in Lagos to enhance maternal health screenings.

The Butterfly iQ+ is a cutting-edge handheld imaging device designed for point-of-care diagnostics. It supports obstetric assessments, maternal health evaluations, cardiac and vascular examinations, and pediatric interventions, making it a vital tool for improving healthcare access in low-income areas.

Speaking on the donation, Dr. Finnih emphasized the importance of leveraging technology to strengthen maternal healthcare, particularly in communities with limited access to quality medical services.

She noted that the introduction of advanced diagnostic tools like the Butterfly iQ+ would significantly enhance early detection of maternal health risks and improve prenatal care.

Reaffirming Lagos State’s commitment to SDG Goal 3 ensuring healthy lives and promoting well-being for all, Dr. Finnih underscored the administration’s dedication to fostering strategic partnerships that drive impactful healthcare interventions.

Expressing her excitement about the collaboration, Ms. Marissa Fayer commended Lagos State’s commitment to improving healthcare delivery through technology-driven solutions.

She reiterated HERhealthEQ’s mission to bridge global health disparities by equipping medical facilities with life-saving technology and pledged ongoing support for maternal and child health programs in Lagos.

This partnership marks a significant step toward enhancing healthcare access and reducing maternal and child mortality rates in the state.
