Davido, Burna Boy, Asake, Olamide, and Ayra Starr, each made waves with their unique contributions to the Nigerian music scene.

 

The spotlight is on the inaugural African Music category, where these Nigerian artists have earned nods for their outstanding work. Davido’s chart-topping single ‘Unavailable,’ Burna Boy’s ‘City Boy,’ Ayra Starr’s ‘Rush,’ and Asake’s ‘Amapiano’ featuring Olamide collectively mark a historic moment, signifying the first Grammy nominations for these powerhouse artists.

 

South African sensation Tyla, also secured her maiden nomination in the same category for the enchanting ‘Water.’ Additionally, Nigerian pop sensation Fireboy clinched his inaugural Grammy nomination for his contributions to Jon Baptiste’s ‘World Music Radio,’ nominated for Album of the Year.

 

 

The accolades continue as CKay earns his first Grammy nomination through his involvement in Janelle Monae’s ‘Age of Pleasure,’ also nominated for Album of the Year.
