Nigerian singer Tobechukwu Victor Okoh, better known by his stage name Peruzzi, has disclosed that his mentor is the great musician Innocent Ujah Idibia, also known as 2Baba.

Peruzzi acknowledged that he had taken “a lot” of inspiration from the “African Queen” crooner when it came to his skill and admitted to mimicking his lyrics and musical taste.

He recently discussed in a Pop Central podcast called Zero Conditions.

“2Baba is my daddy [mentor],” he declared. I take many cues from him. You could tell I copied his verse and made some changes if you listened to “Amaka.”

I still imitate him to this day. I must be honest here.

Peruzzi added during the performance that his versatility makes him a “special” artist.

“As far as music goes, I can do it all. Every artist you’ve met is limited in their knowledge; they don’t know everything. I am unique because of this,” he remarked.
