The management of Truck Transit Parks Limited (TTP) and the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) have started working together to optimise cargo transportation by implementing Electronic tags (E-tags) for convenient access and exit from the ports.

The new invention is free for truckers, according to a statement from TTP Managing Director Mr. Jama Onwubuariri, who also noted that the project promises to transform port security and efficiency.

The decision was made after the NPA Managing Director supported the use of E-tag technology as a workable solution at a recent meeting with more stakeholders in Lagos.

“After lengthy talks and strategic debates with NPA and important stakeholders, TTP has pledged to cover the project’s full cost, demonstrating its steadfast commitment to encouraging long-term investments in enhancing Nigeria’s ports’ digital infrastructure.

In support of the objectives of the NPA and the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Committee PEBEC, TTP is unwaveringly committed to advancing efficiency and encouraging the adoption of state-of-the-art technology within the maritime sector. This project will further facilitate the port’s and its community’s ease of doing business.
