As the saying goes, “Orí ò já ni, àti rérò ní” (a person’s destiny is not limited by their location). Mike Adeyemi, a US-based Nigerian actor, is returning to Nollywood with his new film ‘Kolero’ (beyond the lines), proving that one’s reach can exceed their grasp.
‘Kolero’ tells a captivating story that delves into the complexities of human relationships and power structures, highlighting the destructive nature of societal cabals. As the plot unfolds, the movie reveals how lust, hate, betrayal, revenge, ruthlessness, and love can lead to a storm that only divine intervention can calm, just like the proverb “Ìgbàgbò àti ìgbàgbò, òrí òtító ńṣe” (two elephants fighting, only God can separate them).
The film boasts an impressive ensemble cast, including Bimbo Akintola, Tina Mba, Peju Ogunmola, Olumide Oworu, Jide Kosoko, Tayo Faniran, Jumoke Odetola, Ayo Adesanya, Ricardo Agbor, Bolanle Ninalowo, Lola Idije and many other fantastic actors. The movie is written and directed by the talented Babatunde Akorede, also known as Ọmọ Baba Oba.
Ọmọ Baba Oba expressed his gratitude to Mike Adeyemi for entrusting him with the project, saying, “Kolero is one of the cinema projects I’m working on this year. I’m thrilled to see this dream come to reality, and I commend Mike Adeyemi for believing in me to write and direct this movie project.” As the proverb goes, “Ọmọ t’ó ba jẹ́ ká s’ọmọ t’ó ba jẹ́” (a child who respects their parent will also be respected).
Mike Adeyemi also shared his enthusiasm, stating that ‘Kolero’ is just one of several projects in the pipeline. He assures audiences that they can expect more exciting productions from him and his team.
