Nigerian champions Rivers Hoopers landed in Lagos, Nigeria on Sunday, having wrapped off their voyage at the 2024 Basketball Africa League (BAL) with a commanding 23-point rout over South Africa’s Cape Town Tigers to secure third place.
Senator John Enoh, the minister of sports, and Barr. Chris Green, the commissioner of sports for Rivers State, welcomed the KingsMen upon their arrival in Lagos. The team had achieved Nigeria’s first-ever podium place in the BAL.
Ogoh Odaudu, the head coach, was also recognised as the BAL Season Four Coach of the Year.
Rivers Hoopers, meantime, has expressed gratitude to Nigerians for their assistance at the 2024 BAL in Kigali, Rwanda.
