LAGOS STATE GOVERNMENT SIGNS MOU WITH PROJECT MANAGEMENT INSTITUTE, USA

Today, Governor of Lagos State, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu witnessed the Signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between LASG – Lagos State Project Implementation and Monitoring Unit (PIMU) and Project Management Institute (PMI), United States of America.

The Project Implementation and Monitoring Unit (PIMU) was established through an Executive Order Circular No.1 of 2007 for the purpose of improving quality of projects and create a good mechanism for the public to monitor and engage Government on projects being executed.

Establishment of PIMU was a project

implementation quality control mechanism put in place to create the much-needed symbiotic relationship between the wishes and aspirations of the people and Government’s action plan to

ensure that projects are delivered to schedule of time and quality.

The State Government stands to gain:

 

1. Free Workshop Trainings (for Political Heads & Civil Servants) of 45 Project Executing Ministries, Departments & Agencies of Lagos State.

 

2. Annual Training & Certification programs for up to 500 Civil Servants at discounted rates, courses like:

 

– Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification

– PMI Construction Professional (PMI-CP) Certification.

– Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) Certification.
