In a significant move to boost infrastructure development and sustainable energy, the Lagos State Government has signed two Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC).
The first MoU pertains to the construction of the Lekki-Epe Link Bridge, aimed at enhancing transportation and reducing traffic congestion in the Lekki-Epe axis. The project is part of the state’s strategic transport masterplan, designed to improve the lives of Lagosians and support economic growth.
The second MoU focuses on implementing solar power systems across tertiary institutions in Lagos, including Lagos State University and its campuses, Lagos State University of Science and Technology, Lagos State University of Education, and Lagos State College of Medicine. The project, expected to generate 50 MW of cleaner and more affordable electricity, demonstrates the government’s commitment to sustainable energy and economic development.
The signing ceremony was witnessed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, underscoring the federal government’s support for Lagos State’s infrastructure development initiatives.
With these projects, the Lagos State Government reaffirms its dedication to creating a seamless commuting experience, reducing traffic congestion, and promoting sustainable energy solutions for a better future.
