The Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) has issued a warning to residents of Afaka, Kauya, and Mando in Kaduna State to avoid its open range during a scheduled shooting exercise.
In a statement released on Tuesday, NDA Public Relations Officer Maj. Muhammad Maidawa announced that the exercise will take place from February 26 to March 1 as part of the advanced fire application training for Army Cadets of the 72 Regular Course.
The training will involve live ammunition, making it crucial for residents to steer clear of the designated areas. Maidawa emphasized that barriers and warning signs will be placed around restricted zones to ensure public safety.
Residents, particularly farmers, pedestrians, and cattle rearers, have been urged to comply with these safety measures to avoid any risks. The NDA assured that the security and well-being of the surrounding communities remain a priority and called for cooperation from the public.
The academy stressed that avoiding the restricted areas is essential for both civilian safety and the effectiveness of the military training exercise.
