Media personality Chinedu Ani Emmanuel, popularly known as Nedu Wazobia, has issued a formal pre-action notice to social media influencer Martins Vincent Otse, widely recognized as VeryDarkMan (VDM), over alleged defamatory remarks made on his platforms.

The notice, dated February 24, 2025, was delivered through Nedu’s legal representatives, who also act on behalf of Tokindrumz Picture and Media Ltd.

According to the letter, on February 19, 2025, VDM shared a 12-minute video on YouTube and Instagram, accusing Nedu and Tokindrumz of fraudulent activities. The legal team described the content as “a host of defamatory, false, and disparaging attacks,” specifically pointing to a YouTube video titled How Nedu Diverted NGO Scholarship Meant for Nigerians, which they claim was filled with baseless accusations.

They also noted that VDM deliberately altered the spelling of ‘fraud’ to ‘fr@vd’ in an apparent attempt to evade legal repercussions.

The lawyers further addressed claims surrounding the Metropolitan School of Business and Management UK (MSBM), stating that the matter had been investigated by the relevant authorities, who found no sufficient evidence to pursue legal action. Despite this, they alleged that VDM continued to release multiple videos repeating the same defamatory statements.

Among the accusations highlighted was a claim that Nedu collaborated with musicians Timaya and Kcee Limpopo to facilitate fraudulent activities. The legal representatives refuted this, stating that the Nedu Foundation was solely established to raise funds for students seeking admission into MSBM, and Nedu himself was never informed of any wrongdoing.

They also emphasized that he was not compensated for his involvement in promoting the charity or organizing related events.

Additionally, the letter clarified that Nedu is not the owner of Tokindrumz but is merely a talent signed under the brand. The legal team backed their claims with attached documents and issued specific demands: the removal of all defamatory videos within 24 hours of receiving the notice, a public apology published across VDM’s platforms, and a payment of ₦500 million as damages for reputational harm.

The letter concluded with a warning that failure to comply with these demands would result in legal action against VDM.
