Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has reiterated his administration’s dedication to delivering the proposed Lekki International Airport and other key infrastructure projects across the state.

Sanwo-Olu made this known on Saturday during a guided tour and official visit to Alaro City and the Universal One Development along the Lekki-Epe Expressway. Accompanied by members of the Lagos State Executive Council and top government officials, he inspected key businesses within Alaro City, including Ariel Foods, BUA, TY Danjuma Logistics Park, and Universal Homes.

He announced that aviation regulators are expected to visit Lagos next week for a review and site inspection, paving the way for the commencement of the airport’s construction. The project is aimed at boosting future investments in the state.

Commending the progress at Alaro City, the governor emphasized his administration’s commitment to providing the necessary infrastructure to attract more investments to the corridor.

“We commend Alaro City for the amount of physical infrastructure that has been laid on the ground to encourage businesses and investors to come down to the city,” Sanwo-Olu stated.

He also acknowledged President Bola Tinubu’s role in establishing the Lekki Free Trade Zone two decades ago, highlighting the continuous growth of the area.

“As a government, we have put in place infrastructure to be able to receive investments in this corridor. We need to give credit to our visionary President Bola Tinubu, who was the Governor that started the Lekki Free Trade Zone about two decades ago, and I was uniquely opportune to be part of his team at that time. We have seen successive growth since then,” he added.

The governor further disclosed that work will soon commence on the Green Line Rail project, connecting Marina to Lekki, with funding arrangements already in progress. He encouraged potential investors to take advantage of the rapid development in the area.

“Alaro City is a success story. We want to encourage investors that are still on the borderline that you need to make a call now because things are moving very fast. We thank all Lagosians for believing in our city and state. The Lekki-Epe Expressway will open and will continue opening up for investment into this part of the city,” Sanwo-Olu said.

With these major infrastructural projects in the pipeline, Lagos State continues to position itself as a leading investment hub in Nigeria.
