The Lagos State Taskforce has administered a decisive action against persistent miscreants and hoodlums attempting to reconstruct shanties and makeshift structures along the Fagba Railtrack in Lagos.

Over a span of 7 hours, the operation was spearheaded by the Chairman of the Agency, CSP Shola Jeleloye, who efficiently mobilized his team to suppress the efforts of defiant squatters trying to rebuild shanties alongside the rail corridor. Jeleloye emphasized that on August 12, 2023, the Lagos State Taskforce conducted a significant operation to clear the entire stretch of the railtrack from Fagba down to Isokoko, issuing warnings to squatters against returning to the area. However, these warnings were disregarded.

The Chairman further explained that the clearance of the rail tracks serves the purpose of securing the setback of the State Government’s red line rail and ensuring that residents in Fagba experience a sense of tranquility within their living spaces.

Jeleloye also announced an upcoming engagement between abattoir stakeholders and the State Government to formulate a lasting solution to the challenges in the area. He stressed the crucial role that stakeholders play in preventing individuals, particularly those causing disturbances during the initial clearing exercise, from conducting any business in the region.
