LASG STEPS UP ENFORCEMENT EXERCISE AT IKOYI

… Removes Fences of Police, Mopol Barracks at Ribadu Road, Keffi

The Drainage Enforcement and Compliance dept of the Ministry of Environment and Water Resources (MOE & WR) on Thursday stepped up its enforcement to re-establish the drainage setback of the Awolowo Road Norman Williams Drainage channel by removing the fence of the Police Mopol Barracks on Ribadu Road and Keffi.

The continuation of the enforcement exercise underscores the determination of the State Government to stop the perennial flooding which has plagued the areas, especially the precinct of the State House, Dodan Barracks.

The walls of the Mopol and Police Barracks on Ribadu Road and Keffi are part of perimeter fences that have been identified to be sitting on the drainage setbacks of the channel which has been magnanimously fixed at two meters.

The State Government has declared that it is irrevocably committed to ensuring a safe passage corridor for operatives from the Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources to clean the channel and prevent flooding for a #CleanerLagos vision.
