The Grammy is not just a shiny trophy, but a symbol of excellence and recognition that can boost your career and reputation to new heights. However, winning a Grammy is not easy, and there are some criteria that you need to meet before you can even dream of being nominated. Here are some of the things you need to know if you want to win a Grammy:

Release Date

You can only win a Grammy with a project that was released within a specific time frame. For example, for the Grammy that will take place on January 28, 2024, you need to submit your project between October 1, 2022 and September 30, 2023. This is why Rema didn’t get a nomination

Length of your Project

You can submit either an EP or an album for the Grammy, but it has to meet certain length requirements. Your project should have at least 5 songs and be at least 15 minutes long, but not longer than 30 minutes. You can also submit a single for the Grammy, but that has a different set of rules. If your submission is cool, you’ll get “ Grammy Consideration “

Format

Your project has to be available for sale online on all the major platforms, such as iTunes, Spotify, Amazon, etc. Every song you submit should also have an International Standard Recording Code (ISRC), which is a unique identifier for each track.

These are just the basic requirements for entering the Grammy, but it does not guarantee that you will be nominated. Your project has to be reviewed and voted by the Recording Academy, which is the organization that manages the Grammy Awards. The Recording Academy is composed of music professionals from all over the world, and they have high standards for quality and originality. Tanzanian superstar Diamond Platnumz , Mr Leo , and many other African artistes joined the Recording Academy last year, which was a big achievement for African music.

To impress the Recording Academy, your project has to be exceptional, creative, and unique. You have to stand out from the thousands of other submissions and show that you have something special to offer. The Grammy is a whole new level of competition, and only the best of the best can win it.

Richard Bona is the only Cameroonian artist who has won a Grammy so far, and he deserved it because his music is innovative and brilliant. He is an inspiration for many aspiring artists who want to follow his footsteps. The Grammy rewards only those who are worthy of it.

Congratulations to all the Nominees from Nigeria ❤️.
