LASG IS COMMITTED TO CREATING SUSTAINABLE PARKING CULTURE – COMMISSIONER

… Says Parking Law Not Alien to Developed Cities

The Honourable Commissioner for Transportation, Mr. Oluwaseun Osiyemi has affirmed the commitment of the Lagos State Government to address indiscriminate parking, create more parking spaces and promote a good parking culture in the State.

Osiyemi stated this during a familiarisation visit to the Lagos State Parking Authority (LASPA) on Friday, stressing that the State Government is resolute in creating a more sustainable and efficient parking environment.

He noted that the establishment of LASPA in Lagos is akin to what obtains in developed cities across the world, reaffirming the unflinching support of the Ministry of Transportation and Governor Sanwo-Olu to the activities of the Agency while ensuring that LASPA fulfills its mandate.

Osiyemi admonished the members of staff of the Agency to be proactive and more professional in the discharge of their statutory responsibilities given the sensitivity of their roles.

“You are bound to step on toes in the discharge of your duties, hence you should be resilient, proactive and more professional in your approach. You have our total support”, he assured.

The Commissioner called on Lagosians to embrace the Lagos State Parking Policy and abide by its dictates as it is for the progress of the state and the benefit of all.

The General Manager, Lagos State Parking Authority, Mrs. Adebisi Adelabu, while welcoming the Commissioner to the Agency, said that LASPA is committed to fulfilling its mandate in line with the THEMES Plus Agenda of the administration of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
