As part of efforts to improve service delivery in today’s ever-changing healthcare space, the Orile-Agege General Hospital (OAGH) recently held its year 2023 Strategic Management Retreat, themed “Building Resilience in a Changing Healthcare Space: Rethinking Resources Allocation“, at the Witsspring Hotel and Suites, Ifako, Gbagada, Lagos.

Declaring the two-day retreat open, the Chairman, Lagos State Hospital Service Commission (HSC), Dr. (Mrs.) Atinuke Onayiga said Orile-Agege General Hospital is probably the foremost in terms of Planning and Strategy as this Strategic Management Retreat will be the third in a row.

Dr. Onayiga, represented by Commissioner II in the Health Service Commission, Dr. Mobolaji Olukoya, commended the hospital on its various community outreach engagement which has witnessed tremendous success in the last two years, particularly the “No Child is Left Out” programme.

“Today, I think we will be discussing the sustenance of the programmes and services rendered by the hospital given the prevailing, unfriendly economic climate which probably is a worldwide phenomenon”, Onayiga said.

Commending Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for various palliatives to cushion the effect of subsidy removal in the public service including the various health workers across the State, she enjoined the Managing Director/CEO of the hospital to make staff welfare a priority by encouraging the workforce to embrace routine medical examination at the hospital.

On the expansion of the Hospital, the Chairman promised to provide qualified medical personnel for the Dialysis Centre of the facility while not forgetting about the Donor initiative as obtained at other sister hospitals like Alimosho General Hospital with over 200 identified donors.
