Dada Omowunmi is a Nigerian actress who gained recognition for her roles in both stage plays and movies. She was born on October 2, 1989, in Lagos State.

She began her acting career by taking small parts in stage plays while she was in university. Her first major stage performance was in the play Moremi Ajasoro, directed by Femi Oke.

She has been a part of several notable films, including “Oya” alongside veteran Nigerian actor Tunji Sotimirin, “Omugwo” directed by Kunle Afolayan, and “Ayinla” directed by Tunde Kelani. She has also appeared in television series such as “Married to the Game,” “Best Friends,” and “Jemeji.”

In December 2017, Dada Omowunmi was nominated as the Best Actress for the Year in Nigeria by award-winning Nigerian filmmaker and critic, Charles Novia. She also won the Best Supporting Actress Award at the 8th edition of the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards in 2022 for the movie “Country Hard.”

 

Dada Omowunmi is an ambassador for the Daivyan Children Cancer Foundation, which advocates for the awareness and support of children living with cancer. She is also an ambassador for the Brian Wotari Foundation, which focuses on engaging and enriching the lives of youths. Additionally, she is a brand ambassador for Jumia Nigeria.
