The well-known Nigerian musician Kizz Daniel, whose real name is Tobiloba Daniel Anidugbe, has revealed some startling information regarding his family history.

The singer revealed on Tuesday that he is of Fulani descent.

The revelation came after two brand-new singles were released on Tuesday: “Twe Twe” and “Too Busy To Be Bae.”

“So… I am half Fulani, half Yoruba,” he wrote on his X handle, which was formerly Twitter.

Given that Kizz Daniel is well-known for singing in Yoruba, Pidgin, and English, many people were understandably shocked by the revelation.

KizzDaniel’s admission of his previously unidentified offspring may have something to do with the tone and style of one of his most recent hits, “Twe Twe.” Some online commenters have suggested that the song is a calculated and bold attempt by the musician to enter the very conservative northern region and win over music lovers there.

The fast beat accompanying the song is akin to the quick yet steady beat found in many modern northern songs.

The Buga crooner may be trying to connect with his northern heritage through the song’s northern-inspired beat.
