“Calm Down,” which was one of the lead singles released in 2022 in front of Rema’s debut album “Raves & Roses,” has continued to be incredibly successful commercially.

With 6,000,000 units sold, Selena Gomez’s song “Calm Down” has earned an RIAA 6-time platinum certification, cementing its position as the most financially successful African song in the United States.

The US saw tremendous success with the “Calm Down” remix, which stayed on the Billboard Hot 100 for more than 52 weeks. Just behind Hugh Masekala’s 1968 record “Grazing In The Grass,” which peaked at number one, it also achieved the highest peak for a Nigerian song and the second for an African song at its No. 3 peak on the chart.

With a staggering one billion plays on Spotify, Rema’s song “Calm Down” holds numerous records, including the title of most streamed Afrobeats tune. Moreover, it is the Nigerian music video with the highest number of views on YouTube.
