In a significant move to address healthcare challenges faced by individuals with albinism, the Lagos State Office for Disability Affairs (LASODA) has stepped in to sponsor the treatment of seven individuals for various cancer-related issues. Additionally, LASODA provided Efudix creams to the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital as a preventive measure against skin cancers, in commemoration of World Cancer Day.
Mrs. Adenike Oyetunde-Lawal, the General Manager of LASODA, disclosed this during a meeting with the Albinism Cluster group, chaired by Mr. Tolani Ojuri, the Chairman of the Albinism Association of Nigeria (AAN).
The meeting, held at the Nigerian Educational Research and Development Council in Jibowu, aimed to address pressing healthcare needs and provide support to individuals with albinism.
