Lagos State Office of Transformation, Creativity and Innovation (OTCI) has tasked Public Servants with growth mindset development to leverage creativity and innovation towards changing the face of Public Service and improve service delivery for effective governance in Lagos State.
Director-General of OTCI, Toyin Anjous-Ademuyiwa advised at the annual sensitisation exercise on Creativity and Innovation organised recently by the Agency for Public Servants in Ikeja, adding that the programme would allow a shared vision among the workforce and ignite a culture of creativity and innovation within the public sector.
She disclosed that the goal of OTCI as an agency of the State Government is to foster an environment that encourages fresh perspectives, saying that the exercise will also provide an opportunity to explore diverse perspectives, learn from exemplary cases and engage in thought-provoking discussions with the OTCI Creativity and Innovation Team.
“The goal is to foster an environment that encourages fresh perspectives, without the box thinking, and the courage to challenge the status quo”, she added.
Toyin Anjous-Ademuyiwa also noted that the programme was designed to inspire action and equip Public Servants with the tools, strategies and mindset necessary to drive change, foster innovation and create a more responsive and effective Public Service in the State.
The DG averred that public servants have a unique responsibility to serve the communities and address their needs, reiterating that by embracing creativity and innovation, they can find novel approaches to tackle complex challenges, improve service delivery and create lasting impact.
Advising Public Servants to come together, break down silos and embrace a culture of collaboration, experimentation, and continuous improvement, Anjous-Ademuyiwa said workers in the State can create a public sector that is adaptive, forward-thinking and responsive to the evolving needs of the citizenry.
The sensitization exercise, with the theme: “Mainstreaming the Culture of Creativity and Innovation in the Lagos State Public Service”, comprised ambassadors from various Government Agencies who were taken through a series of presentations and interactive sessions with the Creativity and Innovation Team of OTCI.
