Professor Ishaq Oloyede, the registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), has emphasized the importance of ongoing investments in Nigerian women in order to advance the growth of the nation.

Speaking during this year’s National Ramadan Lecture of the Muslim Association of Nigeria (MAN) in Ibadan, Oyo State, the former vice chancellor of the University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) counseled Muslim husbands to treat their wives as equals—that is, with decency, justice, and respect.

Speaking on the subject of “The Man in Woman: An Exploration of the Responsibility of Muslim Male in the Emancipation of Womanhood,” Oloyede asserted that treating a woman well can help a man become a more moral person and is therefore one of the most valuable things a man can do.

This is possible, according to the JAMB chief, when a man comprehends his wife’s actions and preferences.

“Make sure your family has accommodations in the same style as you, and don’t put your wife in the boys’ quarters,” he warned. We should feed them like we nourish ourselves, the Holy Prophet Muhammad advised us.

During his speech, Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde praised religious organizations for maintaining harmony in the state.

Alhaji AbdRasheed AbdAzeez, Makinde’s special assistant on Islamic affairs, represented him. Makinde claimed that the unity and understanding between the various communities had driven out religious hostility from the state.

The topic of the speech, according to Prince Lateef Fagbemi, the federation’s attorney general and minister of justice, could not have come at a more fortuitous time.
