Mr Ibu : Family release date for final burial

The funeral date of late Nollywood actor John Okafor has been revealed by his family.

 

A few months before to his death, Mr. Ibu had his leg amputated following a battle with an unidentified illness.

 

The late actor, according to his family, would be laid to rest in his hometown of Amuri, in the Nkanu West Local Government Area of Enugu State.

 

Elder Sunday Okafor, Ibu’s brother, co-signed a statement stating that the deceased would be buried like a hero.

 

“The Okafor family of Eziokwe Amuri, Nkanu West LGA in Enugu State, would like to pay tribute to our beloved hero, John Ikechukwu Okafor, who has left a legacy of love, laughter, and vibrancy even in death.

 

“On June 28, 2024, we would be honored to have your distinguished presence as we lay to rest our son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and in-law.

 

 

Please join us as we commemorate our icon’s greatest and final moments,” the statement read.

 

According to the announcement, a high-profile novelty match would kick off the burial ceremony on Tuesday, June 25. On Wednesday, June 26, there would be a session named Mr. Ibu’s Night, which would include a candlelight procession and live entertainment.

 

His compound in Eziokwe Amuri, Nkanu West, would have a Christian wake on June 27. On June 28, there will be a funeral service.

 

On Sunday, June 30, the five-day burial ceremony will come to a close with a church Thanksgiving attended by friends, family, and well-wishers.
