The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), according to the federal government, would conduct a thorough audit of all regional airlines operating in the nation.
Festus Keyamo, the minister of aviation and aerospace development, said as much on a Thursday television program.
In order to ensure passenger safety and the health of the civil aviation sector, Keyamo stated that all other airlines in the nation will undergo audits in addition to Dana Airlines’ suspension and ongoing audit.
In the meantime, Messrs NAEBI Dynamic Concepts Limited has been given the sole authority by the federal government to collect Helicopter Landing Levy at all Nigerian aerodromes, helipads, air strips, FSPOs, FSOs, and oil rig platforms.
“It is imperative that all operators and stakeholders fully comply with this mandate, by granting total access to Messrs NAEBI Dynamic Concepts Limited for the collection of this levy, effective immediately,” the federal government stated in a letter seen by LEADERSHIP and personally signed by the minister.
This requirement will be violated if this direction is not followed, and appropriate punishment will be applied. The ministry will take all appropriate legal action against anyone who disobeys this instruction and will ensure compliance without exception.
