Celebrity Adekunle Gold has showered praise on the legendary singer Innocent Idibia, also known as 2Baba, in honour of the twentieth anniversary of his debut solo album, “Face2Face.”

The project is “undeniably the blueprint for Afrobeats,” according to Gold.

He mentioned that generations of musicians are still motivated by the ‘African Queen’ hitmaker’s everlasting talent and impact.

Adekunle Gold shared the album cover on his X Twitter and said, “May God bless you, @official2baba! You released a project 20 years ago that is unquestionably the foundation of Afrobeats.

“Generations of musicians and fans alike are inspired by your timeless artistry and influence.”

After leaving the boy band Plantashun Boiz, 2Baba, then known as 2Face, released his first solo album, “Face2Face,” on May 15, 2003.

The lead track “Nfana Ibaga” and the timeless “African Queen,” which broke out from the Nigerian and African soundscape, were featured on the album, which was released under the Kennis Music label.

Music fans consider “Face2Face” to be the standard for Afrobeats debut albums.
