In a cinematic feat, Funke Akindele’s latest masterpiece, “A Tribe Called Judah,” has emerged as a blockbuster, raking in an impressive ₦400 million within a mere 12 days of its nationwide release.

The announcement, heralding the movie’s phenomenal success, was made by Film One Entertainment, the official distributor, via their Instagram platform.

Since its theatrical debut on December 15, 2023, “A Tribe Called Judah” has not only become the highest-grossing film of the year but has also etched its name among the top five highest-grossing Nigerian movies of all time.

This remarkable achievement positions the film alongside cinematic gems like “The Wedding Party” and “Omo Ghetto: The Saga,” with Akindele’s directorial prowess showcased in the action-packed “Battle on Buka Street.”

The narrative unfolds as a compelling tale of a single mother, Jedidah Judah, portrayed by Akindele herself, and her sons, each fathered by different men.

Jide Kene Achufusi, Timini Egbuson, Uzee Usman, Tobi Makinde, and Olumide Oworu bring to life the brothers Emeka, Pere, Adamu, Shina, and Ejiro Judah, respectively. United by familial bonds, the siblings embark on a daring heist to rescue their mother from adversity.

Co-directed by Adeoluwa Owu, the stellar cast includes Ebele Okaro, Uzor Arukwe, Nse Ikpe Etim, Genoveva Umeh, Faithia Williams, Nosa Rex, Greg Ojefua, Ibrahim Yekini, Boma Akpore, Paschaline Ijeoma Alex, Etinosa Idemudia, Juliana Olayode, and Yvonne Jegede
