The sale of tainted drinks in bars, lounges, and nightclubs throughout Lagos metropolitan has been denounced by Mr. Lanre Mojola, the Director-General of the Lagos Safety Commission, and Mr. Idris Aregbe, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Tourism, Arts, and Culture.

They denounced the rise in the sale of tainted drinks in nightclubs, which has put the public’s health at unheard-of hazards, in a joint statement released following a meeting recently held in Alausa. They called for everyone to love and value every life, saying that the act was abhorrent, reckless, and terrible.

The sale of tainted beverages is strictly prohibited by the government, according to Mojola, who also noted that the illicit activity has grown widespread and that the heinous conduct poses a serious risk to the security and welfare of partygoers.

He said that the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration (NAFDAC) will work with the Commission, the Ministry of Tourism, and other pertinent agencies to protect Lagos from the illicit selling of tainted beverages to the general public.

In order to stop the threat and punish negligent nightclubs, he continued, the State Government would shortly start making sporadic, unplanned inspections to nightclubs.
