As part of the Lagos State Drivers Institute’s (LASDRI) ongoing 2023 Ember Months Safety Advocacy Campaign, drivers are urged to protect their health, their cars, and their driving skills by practicing safe driving habits.

This was revealed by the Institute’s general manager, Mrs. Afusat Tiamiyu, during an appearance on the radio show “Bo Se Nlo” on Traffic Radio 96.1 FM. She also revealed that the Institute will host the 2023 Drivers’ Recognition and Award Ceremony.

Tiamiyu claims, “The Institute is cognizant of the significance of drivers in society and believes in recognising and rewarding drivers who have lived up to expectations by positively impacting our dear state’s economic growth.” But as a responsible driver, you have to always look out for your health. Maintain the car in good condition and become an expert on the roads you drive.

She added that since learning is a lifelong process, drivers must make sure they regularly attend the Institute to maintain their driving skills up to date. The head of LASDRI emphasised that retraining and training drivers for safety is a part of the Institute’s mandate and urged employers to make sure that candidates are qualified before hiring.

Tiamiyu claimed that LASDRI’s Centres and Annexes have expanded from five to thirteen locations throughout the state in an effort to reach out to every professional driver in the state, while emphasising the necessity of routine eye exams and appropriate assessments at the Institute.

She added that there are numerous advantages to attending the Institute because it is fully furnished with a variety of cutting-edge training tools, attractively presented, and up to date curriculum.

In order to reduce accidents on our roads, the General Manager advised Vehicle Owners to stop teaching their relatives “how to drive” and instead make sure they enrol in reputable driving schools.
