Nigeria’s Super Eagles are the fourth ranked national team whose match tickets for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivorie have been sold out according to the Confederation of Africa Football (CAF).

The hosts, Cote d’Ivorie, who are one of Nigeria’s group opponents, are the team that have recorded the highest number of tickets with 32,307 already sold out as at Thursday, December 28.

Another of Nigeria’s group opponents, Guinea-Bissau sold the second highest number of tickets with 28,314 to come second behind the hosts.

The three- time African champions, Nigeria will face Equatorial Guinea on January 14 in their first game of the tournament and the Guineans have sold a total of 16,237 tickets.

Nigeria’s sold tickets ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations stands at 12,544 while Senegal are fifth in that order with a total of 10,959 tickets in total.

The significance of the numbers released by CAF indicate that all the teams in Group A of the tournament have attracted the biggest attention as all four teams aside Senegal are on the ‘Top 5 list’ for most tickets sold.

The Super Eagles final squad for the tournament are yet to be announced with about four teams having already made known their teams.

Super Eagles head coach Jose Peseiro is said to be at loggerheads with the Nigeria Football Federation over the number of players to make his team to Côte d’Ivorie.

The Portuguese is said to prefer to take 25 players which he claimed he can ‘manage’ while the Nigeria Football Federation egg heads want the gaffer to maximize the advantage of taking 27 players to the tournament.
