Earlier this week, at the Rural Farmers’ Hub 2024 symposium “Sowing Seeds of Innovation,” a major role was played by the agricultural technology startup Hello Tractor.

Dr. Nneka Enwonwu, the company’s country managing director for Nigeria, gave a keynote speech highlighting the revolutionary potential of technology in attaining food security.

Dr. Enwonwu outlined the major obstacles that African agriculture faces, such as low rates of mechanization and restricted resource availability for smallholder farmers—especially women.

Additionally, she presented a compelling argument for the vital role that strategic alliances play in empowering smallholder farmers and changing the face of agriculture.

“Hello Tractor is more than just an app,” Dr. Enwonwu declared. “We assist the whole mechanization ecosystem, filling the gap between innovation and farmer accessibility.” We are pleased that, thanks to our creative financing initiative, more women are now able to acquire tractors and that we now manage one million more acres for farmers.

Furthermore, Dr. Enwonwu emphasized Hello Tractor’s dedication to working with national and subnational governments on policies and initiatives that promote greater mechanization and strengthen the position of smallholder farmers. In order to extend the reach of its services to rural areas in Nigeria, Kenya, Uganda, and other countries, the company keeps integrating private tractor owners into its network.

Dr. Enwonwu urged everyone involved in the agriculture industry to work together and participate actively.

“Together, we can investigate the possibilities of technological breakthroughs and creative approaches to ‘Sow the Seeds of Innovation’ for a prosperous agricultural landscape in Nigeria and throughout Africa,” the speaker stated. The symposium’s theme, “Sowing Seeds of Innovation,” was the main topic of the speech.
