Dr. Dennis Otuaro, the administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP), has called on employees to work more productively and efficiently in order to fulfil the program’s mission of maintaining long-term security and stability in the Niger Delta.
Over the weekend, Otuaro, who was in charge of a re-orientation training for both new and current PAP Office personnel in Abuja, reaffirmed his dedication to assiduously working towards the program’s objectives.
The administrator said the plan was in “safe hands” and promised to use his position to achieve sustained peace and security in the region through its appropriate execution. This was said in a statement released by his media assistant, Igoniko Oduma.
I can communicate with anyone without the use of middlemen because I am familiar with all the important Niger Delta stakeholders. Money is not why I am here. Through the mainstreaming of former agitators and the creation of possibilities for them to become self-sufficient and independent, I am passionate about promoting peace, security, and development in the Niger Delta,” he declared.
According to Otuaro, the goal of the workshop was to create a setting where employees could cooperate instead of working alone, which would help the program’s goals be met more successfully.
“With this exercise, we hope to strengthen our teamwork and collaboration skills to better carry out the Presidential Amnesty Office’s mission,” he stated.
In order to effectively implement the programme, we shall endeavour to strengthen our cooperation and consultations with key stakeholders. Only with the effective, efficient, and committed involvement of our staff members will this admirable goal be accomplished.
The administrator went on to reassure all parties involved that beneficiaries who have received vocational training would receive fair treatment by stating that the project will investigate funding opportunities for them.
The Presidential Amnesty Programme, which is presently in its reintegration phase, was created in 2009 with the intention of disarming, demobilising, and reintegrating former Niger Delta agitators. Its objective is to mainstream these individuals and offer institutional support to the affected communities in the area.
