Grammy-winning Nigerian artist Burna Boy has added another international accolade to his growing list of achievements, earning a platinum certification from France’s Syndicat National de l’Édition Phonographique (SNEP) for his 2019 collaboration Donne-Moi L’accord with French singer Dadju.

The hit track, which has surpassed 50 million streams on Spotify, continues to enjoy widespread success, solidifying Burna Boy’s reputation as a global force in music.

This latest certification comes shortly after the singer earned an RIAA Gold certification for Alone, a song from the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever soundtrack.

The track, which featured alongside contributions from fellow Nigerian stars Rema and Fireboy, was nominated for Best Global Music Performance at the 2023 Grammys. Alone has since amassed 164 million Spotify streams, making it the second most-streamed song on the album after Rihanna’s Lift Me Up.

Burna Boy’s impressive record now includes six RIAA-certified songs, four of which are solo tracks, reinforcing his position as one of Africa’s biggest musical exports.

The 10-time Grammy nominee is preparing for an eventful 2025, with the anticipated release of his eighth studio album, No Sign of Weakness.

The project has already been teased with hit singles, including Higher nominated for Best African Song Performance at the 67th Grammys Bundle By Bundle, which dropped in December 2024, and Update, released in February 2025.

Adding to his growing list of milestones, Burna Boy recently made history as the first artist to cover Billboard France Magazine.

In his interview, the multi-award-winning star reflected on the global impact of Nigerian music and his pivotal role in shaping the industry’s international reach.

With No Sign of Weakness, Burna Boy aims to extend his remarkable run, as his last four albums have all earned Grammy nominations.

He also holds the record as the first Nigerian artist to have three albums surpass 500 million streams on Spotify, further cementing his status as a powerhouse in the global music scene.
