The 2024 NAACP Image Awards saw Nigerian artist Burna Boy lose six of his nominations, continuing his dismal performance at award shows.

Usher defeated the self-proclaimed “African Giant” in the Outstanding Male Artist of the Year competition. His song “City Boys” was defeated by his fellow countryman Tems’ “Me & U” for the Outstanding International Song award.

Burna Boy’s “Sittin’ On Top Of The World,” starring 21 Savage, lost to Megan Thee Stallion’s “Cobra” in the Outstanding Hip-hop/rap song category. Chris Brown’s “Sensational,” with Davido and Lojay, won Best Duo/Group Collaboration (Contemporary).

The Victoria Monét album “Jaguar II” defeated his album “I Told Them…” for the Outstanding Album of the Year award.

Remembers that Burna Boy had four nominations for the 2024 Grammy Awards, one nomination for the 2024 Brit Awards, and seven nominations for the 2023 BET Hip-hop Awards.

On the second night of the 55th Image Awards, Chris Brown’s “Sensational,” which already won the Best Duo/Group Collaboration (Contemporary) on the first night, took home the Outstanding Visual Album/Song honor.
