As soon as a photo of Tosin Adarabioyo sporting the Super Eagles jacket went viral on the internet, Chelsea’s newest recruit caused eyebrows to raise.

Adarabioyo, a London native with Nigerian parents, played junior football for England. He hasn’t made his Three Lions senior debut yet, but he is still qualified to play for Nigeria.

In 2020, he made it clear that he would like to play for either England or Nigeria at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, but he reportedly declined a call-up offer from the Nigeria Football Federation to play for the Super Eagles.

X user Yimzy wrote, “Tosin Adarabioyo,” beside a photo of the Blues defender staring intently at his phone as he noticed the Eagles’ green and white blazer with the NFF badge. Naija boys have one thing in common: they always have Steeze.

Reactions to the post quickly followed, with others expressing happiness that he had switched to Nigeria. “This one is not wasting his days waiting for England to call up,” declared Big DON. It’s nice to see.

“Bro just telling the super eagles to come get him,” COLDPLAY continued. I’m going to be there. Has he declared for Nigeria? asked a different fan.
