The Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brigadier General Yushau Ahmed, has announced that corps members will begin receiving a new monthly allowance of N77,000 starting February 2025.
The Director General revealed this while addressing 2024 Batch ‘C’ Stream II corps members in Katsina on Thursday. He confirmed that the increase of the monthly allowance has been included in the 2025 Federal Government budget.
“This month has already ended, but once the budget is passed, by next month, you will start receiving N77,000 instead of the current N33,000,” he stated.
He also urged corps members to reciprocate the government’s commitment by serving diligently and reassured them of their safety and welfare, emphasizing that they would not be posted to areas with security risks.
“We will not send our corps members to locations with security threats. Wherever they are posted, they can be assured that the area is safe for service,” Ahmed assured.
