COURT OF APPEAL AFFIRMS LABOUR PARTY GEORGE ADEGEYE OLAWANDE AS THE REPRESENTATIVE FOR AMUWO ODOFIN FEDERAL CONSTITUENCY

Today marks a watershed in the history of Amuwo Odofin Federal Constituency as the Court of Appeal threw out all the appeals filed by APC, APGA and ZLP including their candidates.

The thrust of their appeal is premised on the issue of candidacy of the elected Representative for Amuwo Odofin Federal Constituency, Hon George Adegeye Olawande.

The judges, M.L. Shuaib, J.E Ekanem and P.A Bassi in their collective judgement declared that it’s not within the purview of the parties that appealed to question the candidacy of the declared winner of the election, who was sponsored on the platform of the Labour Party. All the grounds of their appeal were thrown out for obvious lack of merit.

GAO in his remark, dedicates the victorious judgement firstly to his beloved Mother, Hon Risikat Ajoke Adegeke of blessed memory, the good people of Amuwo Odofin Federal Constituency, Executives and Members of Labour Party.

He said the victorious judgment of the Court of Appeal has further strengthened his resolve to deliver on his campaign promises. The people will enjoy quality representation at the Federal Parliament.

He is also seizing this opportunity to call on his appellants to join him in this assignment of repositioning Amuwo Odofin Federal Constituency to greater heights. Litigations are over and it’s now time for this business of governance.
