Eloho Omame is a notable figure as the co-founder of FirstCheck Africa, a venture capital fund launched in 2020 that is pioneering Africa’s first female-first investment initiative. Passionate about gender and inclusion in the technology and entrepreneurship space, Eloho is dedicated to unlocking the vast potential of Africa’s emerging female founders and diverse entrepreneurs. By exclusively investing in technology ventures led by women, FirstCheck Africa aims to shift narratives, enhance representation, and foster inclusion among startup founders, operators, and investors.

In 2018, Eloho took a significant step by launching Endeavor Nigeria, an entrepreneurship network designed for high-impact founders leading high-growth technology companies in the scaleup stage. Prior to this, in 2017, she played a key role in conceptualizing, building, and launching Lagos Innovates in collaboration with the Lagos State Employment Trust Fund. This initiative represented a groundbreaking portfolio of startup support programs, a first-of-its-kind by a sub-national government in Africa.

With a background spanning over 15 years in finance roles within investment banking and growth private equity, covering markets in the U.K., Europe, and Africa, Eloho is an expert in capital structuring and fundraising for companies at various stages, including startups. She has contributed as a Mentor at Endeavor Nigeria and formerly served as the Chair of the finance and capital sub-committee of the Lagos State Employment Trust Fund’s MSME Recovery Fund. This fund was established to support small businesses in the wake of the combined challenges posed by COVID and the End SARS protests.

Eloho’s educational background includes an undergraduate degree in Economics from the London School of Economics & Political Science and a Master’s in Business Administration from the London Business School. Her multifaceted career and commitment to driving positive change in the African entrepreneurial landscape position her as a leader and advocate for diversity and inclusion in the tech and startup ecosystem.
