In a significant breakthrough against banditry, the operatives of the FCT Police Command have apprehended one of the most elusive figures on their wanted list. On February 24, 2024, at approximately 7:05 PM, acting on credible intelligence, the police descended upon Sardauna Forest in Toto, Nasarawa State, and arrested Samaila Wakili Fafa, also known as ‘Habu Ibrahim’, a notorious kidnap kingpin.

Wakili, whose name has struck fear into the hearts of many, had long evaded capture and had a bounty placed on his head by the Honorable Minister of the FCT. His arrest marks a significant victory in the ongoing battle against criminal elements plaguing the FCT and its surrounding areas.

The capture of Wakili comes on the heels of the arrest of another high-profile kidnapper, Saidu Abdulkadir, alias ‘Dahiru Adamu’, further demonstrating the FCT Police Command’s unwavering commitment to bringing notorious criminals to justice.

During interrogation, Wakili confessed to masterminding and executing numerous kidnappings in the FCT and its environs. Among his chilling admissions were his involvement in the abduction of Barrister Chris Agidy, the legal aid to Senator Ned Nwoko, and Mr. Sunday Yahaya Zakwai, the district head of Ketti Village, both of whom tragically lost their lives at the hands of Wakili’s syndicate.

In a grim turn of events, Wakili led police operatives to the location where the remains of Barrister Chris Agidy were concealed. The recovered remains were subsequently deposited at Gwagwalada General Hospital, bringing a sense of closure to the families of the victims.

The arrest of Samaila Wakili Fafa serves as a stark warning to those who engage in criminal activities that the long arm of the law will eventually catch up with them. The FCT Police Command, under the leadership of the Honorable Minister, remains steadfast in its mission to ensure the safety and security of all residents within its jurisdiction.
