Olam Agri has received recognition from the Nigerian federal government for its substantial contribution to increasing agricultural productivity and the nation’s growth.

Sen. Abubakar Kyari, CON, Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, praised the business on March 28, 2024, after touring its integrated rice farm and mill in Nasarawa state.

Olam Agri’s top management paid a courtesy call to the minister and the vice president recently, during which they showed interest in growing their relationship with the federal government to further increase agricultural output. This visit came after that conversation.

During his visit to the Olam Agri Rice Farm, the Minister inaugurated Olam Agri’s dry season rice harvest alongside a group of technical specialists and deputy governor of Nasarawa State, Dr. Emmanuel Akabe.

He expressed his happiness with the company’s creative strategy for increasing agricultural output. Olam Agri’s commitment to corporate social responsibility was also commended by the Minister, who highlighted the company’s work with over 35,000 out-growers, youth scholarships, learning infrastructure, hiring of qualified teachers to provide academic excellence throughout the communities, and paid flood response and support for at least 3,523 residents from ten different communities.
