The Federal Government would duplicate the gender sensitization training on the adoption of clean cooking solutions in each of the six geographical zones of the nation, according to Dr. Mustapha Abdullahi, Director General of the Energy Commission of Nigeria (ECN).

Speaking at the conclusion of the two-day gender sensitization workshop on the adoption of clean cooking solutions that ECN organized for women in Abuja, Abdullahi noted that adoption will improve the socioeconomic standing of women and their families as well as lessen environmental destruction.

The director general reiterated the commission’s pledge to lower carbon emissions and promised to provide opportunities for feedback to ascertain how the training’s recipients are faring.

“I want to emphasize that the sensitization process continues,” he stated. This is only the start. That is a pilot as well. We just completed the pilot stage with the Kurudu participants, and our goal is to provide the same sensitization training throughout all six geopolitical zones.

As previously committed, the energy commission will work to address all aspects of energy-related issues in addition to attempting to lower carbon emissions. I thus expect that after we return home, we will have a clearer head and be able to resolve any remaining issues with our house appliances and cooking.

In an effort to make this process better than it was today, we would like to hear from you, the participants, before moving on to the next phase and the next location to carry out the same sensitization.

Following the awarding of certificates of attendance to the participants, Mrs. Ikeme Chinwe, Deputy Director of the Engineer Training and Manpower Development Department, expressed gratitude to the commission’s DG for his support of the program and urged the participants to apply the knowledge they had gained.
