Gov. Sanwo-Olu Promotes Akosile to Special Adviser for Media and Publicity

In a significant move, Lagos State Governor Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu has elevated his Chief Press Secretary (CPS), Mr. Gboyega Akosile, to the esteemed position of Special Adviser, Media and Publicity. The appointment, which took immediate effect, was announced on Wednesday in a letter dated March 13, 2024, and signed by the Head of Service, Mr. Bode Agoro.

Mr. Akosile’s new role is a testament to his dedication and expertise. Prior to this appointment, he served as the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Sanwo-Olu and played a pivotal role during the 2019 governorship campaign. His unwavering commitment to media and perception management has been evident throughout his career, including his tenure as Deputy Chief Press Secretary and later Chief Press Secretary during the Governor’s first term in office.

With Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts degrees in Theatre Arts from the University of Ilorin and the University of Lagos, respectively, Mr. Akosile brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to his new position. Additionally, he holds an MBA from Obafemi Awolowo University, further enhancing his qualifications.

As Special Adviser, Media and Publicity, Mr. Akosile will continue to shape the narrative around Governor Sanwo-Olu’s administration, aligning with the government’s THEMES+ development agenda. His dedication, diligence, and selflessness are expected to further elevate the communication efforts of the Lagos State Government.
