Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has affirmed the strategic position Lagos State occupies and the role it must play for our country to leverage the opportunities presented by Africa Continental Free Trade Agreement (AFCTA).

Sanwo-Olu stated this at the 51st Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN) held at Lekki on Thursday and themed: “Setting the Agenda for Competitive Manufacturing under the AFCFTA: What Nigeria Needs to Do.”

Represented by Commissioner for Commerce, Cooperatives, Trade & Investment, Mrs Folashade Ambrose-Medebem, the Governor stressed that the theme of the AGM, resonates deeply with the economic aspirations not only of our nation but also of our continent and the reason why the State has continued to prioritise investment in critical infrastructure and implement policies and strategies aimed at improving the ease of doing business and strengthening the productive capacity of MSMEs across all sectors.

The Governor expressed delight that the investment is yielding the desired dividends as Lagos continues to be the preferred destination for both local and foreign direct investment while he noted that the administration will continue to forge excellent relationship with the Organised Private Sector (OPS) to develop solutions to issues militating against the growth and full harnessing of the huge potentials in the real sector.
