Lagos State Government Affirms Support for Women’s Empowerment and Inclusivity at 2024 IWD Celebration
Amidst the vibrant celebrations of International Women’s Day, Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State has reiterated his administration’s unwavering commitment to supporting women in the quest for a more equitable, inclusive, and just society.
Addressing women residents at the Mobalaji Johnson Arena in Onikan during the Year 2024 International Women’s Day Celebration, Governor Sanwo-Olu emphasized the importance of creating an environment where everyone, regardless of gender, has equal opportunities to fulfill their potentials and lead fulfilling lives.
Encouraging women to embrace values that uplift and empower, the Governor urged them to maximize their potentials for qualitative lifestyles. He underscored the pivotal role women play in driving progress and prosperity in society, emphasizing the need for collective efforts in building a better future for all.
In her address at the event, the Commissioner for the Ministry of Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation (MWAPA), Hon. Cecilia Bolaji Dada, echoed Governor Sanwo-Olu’s sentiments, calling on women to view investment not only as a moral imperative but also as a means to unlock their full potentials and contribute to economic growth and social development.
