The Honourable Commissioner for Transportation, Mr. Oluwaseun Osiyemi, undertook an impromptu Traffic Law Enforcement operation to Ojodu, Berger on Thursday, 12th October 2023. Accompanying him were the esteemed Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mr. Olawale Musa, and other heads of agencies under the Ministry of Transportation.

During this operation, Mr. Osiyemi issued a stern warning to commercial vehicle drivers throughout the state who persist in utilizing lay-bys as full bus garages. He emphasized that their actions are in direct violation of the ongoing enforcement exercise and urged them to immediately cease this practice.

As the enforcement exercise progresses, it is crucial for these drivers to understand that their turn will soon come. The Ministry of Transportation, under the leadership of Mr. Osiyemi, maintains a zero-tolerance policy towards such infractions. This commitment is in line with the vision of a Greater Lagos, where order and efficiency prevail.

Let it be known that the Ministry of Transportation is resolute in its mission to ensure the smooth flow of traffic and the safety of all road users. Through rigorous enforcement measures, we aim to create an environment where compliance with traffic laws is the norm, not the exception.

We urge all commercial vehicle drivers to heed this warning and adjust their behavior accordingly. By doing so, they contribute to the realization of a Greater Lagos, where the aspirations of its residents are met with a transportation system that is reliable, efficient, and safe.
