In a welcome development, the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) has agreed to restore electricity supply to some sections of the University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan, Oyo State, within 48 hours. This commitment comes after a protracted 100-day power outage that has severely impacted hospital operations.

The prolonged power outage has not only disrupted medical services but also posed significant risks to patients, particularly those requiring critical care. The hospital’s management and staff have had to rely on alternative power sources, incurring additional expenses and logistical challenges.

The IBEDC’s agreement to restore electricity supply within 48 hours is a significant step towards mitigating the challenges faced by UCH Ibadan. Hospital administrators and staff are eagerly awaiting the restoration of power, which will enable them to provide uninterrupted medical services to patients.

We commend IBEDC for their commitment to resolving this issue and look forward to the timely restoration of electricity supply to UCH Ibadan.
