Chioma Angeka Okeke has been appointed as the new chairman of the Abuja Chapter of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (ICSAN) to oversee its operations.

Okeke is the seventh head of the institute and a seasoned attorney.

Speaking upon her inauguration, Okeke pledged to use her years of experience and knowledge to take the institute to new heights.

According to her, the institute offers a way for public and commercial organizations to firmly establish corporate governance while enhancing human potential.

I would like to thank everyone who helped to make today possible. I began working as a chartered secretary in London, and with the experience the institute has given me, I’m prepared to lead it to even larger and more amicable heights.

“I want everyone to understand that this is a team effort. I therefore need your ideas and contributions,” she stated.

She remarked, “I accept the leadership which will present its challenges but an avenue to continue doing the great work that has been done,” while acknowledging the efforts of the institute’s past executives.

She made suggestions for initiatives that would benefit the group’s members and offered constructive criticism in an effort to win over the group’s support.

Chief Emeka Obegolu, the president of the Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI), revealed intentions to collaborate with the organization to provide corporate governance training to its employees.
