KAFTAN TV appoints Odusile as the new CEO

With effect from Monday, March 11, 2024, the Board of Directors of KAFTAN Television has confirmed Abdulwaheed Odusile, the recently appointed Commissioner for Information and Strategy in Ogun State, as the organization’s new Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

 

The company’s Human Resources Manager, Oluwajuwonlo Janet Akinwale, signed a statement announcing that the Board of Directors has granted the new CEO complete authority to appoint a new management team and restructure the business to meet professional requirements.

 

The statement says, “Mr. Abdulwaheed Odusile has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of KAFTAN TV by the Board of Directors, with great pride.”

 

Mr. Odusile has a proven track record of strategic leadership and operational excellence, and he will be instrumental in leading KAFTAN TV to new heights.

 

The Board of Directors at KAFTAN TV grants the newly appointed CEO complete authority to appoint a new management group and restructure the business to meet professional requirements.

 

Having worked in print and broadcast media for more than 40 years, he offers the KAFTAN TV team a special combination of execution and vision.

 

Odusile is a superb resource manager, media executive, and journalist who would surely aid KAFTAN TV in establishing itself as a leader in the Nigerian media landscape.

 

The statement ended, “We are confident of the significant contributions he will make in the new role.”

 

From September 2020 to May 2023, Odusile held the position of Ogun State Commissioner for Information and Strategy.

He flaunts his more than 40 years of domestic and global media management experience.

Between 2016 and 2019, he served as President of the Federation of African Journalists (FAJ) and President of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) from 2015 to 2018.

 

The new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of KAFTAN TV is an accomplished journalist and manager who has held a number of newsroom management roles, including pioneering Editor of National Life Newspaper and Managing Editor of the nation’s premier newspaper, Nation.

 

Additionally, he has had various jobs with the newspapers ThisDay, The Sun, and National Concord.

 

He is a scholar and media resource with numerous publications to his name, including “Thoughts on Media Policy,” “The Media, Socio-Cultural and Political Integration,” and “Media Ethics and Promotion of Democratic Culture in Nigeria.”

 

In addition to being a member of several professional associations, such as the Nigerian Guild of Editors, the International Federation of Journalists (IFJ), the Federation of African Journalists (FAJ), the West African Journalists Association (WAJA), and the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Odusile holds a master’s degree in legal studies.
