Lagos Govt Approves N35,000 Wage, Grants 50% Bonus To Public Servants For December

In a move showcasing commitment to the welfare of Lagos State public servants, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has approved financial benefits for December.

 

Revealed through a circular titled ‘2023 End of Year Bonus and Implementation of Wage Awards,’ the Head of Service, Bode Agoro, disclosed the governor’s decision.

 

Governor Sanwo-Olu expressed appreciation for the tireless contributions of public servants and political appointees toward advancing the state.

 

“I have graciously approved the payment of 50% of basic salary as an end-of-year bonus for all political appointees and public servants,” stated the governor. This includes employees of various bodies, ensuring a wider spectrum of beneficiaries.

 

Moreover, the governor sanctioned the implementation of a wage award as a palliative measure, pending the review of the national minimum wage.

 

Emphasizing the significance of these measures, the governor urged public servants to maintain excellence and deliver quality services in line with the administration’s objectives.

 

The circular also mandated all Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) to promptly implement the salary increment in their December disbursements, solidifying the governor’s directive. It further urged employees to uphold the state’s THEMES+ Agenda, encouraging qualitative service delivery to the people of Lagos.

 

The governor’s commitment to enhancing the welfare of public servants stands as a testament to the administration’s dedication, ensuring the workforce’s recognition and support in the state’s development.
