The Lagos State Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM) has officially handed out appointment letters to 448 newly recruited post-primary school teachers, marking a significant step in strengthening the state’s education sector.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Chairman of TESCOM, Mrs. Victoria Mopelola Peregrino, urged the new teachers to give their best and commit to continuous learning and self-improvement. Represented by the Director of Teachers’ Education and Capacity Development, Mrs. Abidemi Aloba, she congratulated the recruits for successfully passing the rigorous selection process.
Mrs. Peregrino advised the teachers to understand their students’ strengths and challenges, adopt creative teaching methods, and integrate technology into their classrooms. She emphasized the importance of using effective, non-violent disciplinary measures while treating students with care and dedication.
She also highlighted the significance of professional dressing and encouraged the new recruits to take their roles seriously by demonstrating diligence, hard work, and punctuality.
The newly appointed teachers will be deployed across the six education districts in Lagos State, where they are expected to contribute to enhancing the quality of education and improving student performance.
